“T-ara in turmoil” is the big headline on Monday in South Korea after band member Hwa-young was forced out by the group’s agency. T-ara’s agency Core Contents Media (CCM) revealed that Hwa-young’s past behavior was one of the reasons for her “termination” while the rapper/singer said that the agency’s accusations were lies.
T-ara in Turmoil: Hwa-Young Ousted Due to Past Bad Behavior?
The departure of Hwa-young shakes up one of Kpop‘s popular girl bands and brings up questions about the future of the group. The rapper’s departure brought up rumors that she had been bullied by the other members of T-ara. Hwa-young is the youngest member of the band and took part in a recent concert with T-ara despite having a severe leg injury. During the concert, the rapper failed to take part in the show except for one number “Day by Day” in which she sat in a chair. Unconfirmed reports say that the other members composed of Jiyeon, Eunjung, Qri, Boram, and Seyeon acted rudely to Hwa-young and bullied her.
CCM reacted swiftly by the rumors and forced Hwa-young to be “forced out” of the band. Faced with T-ara in turmoil, CCM Ceo Kim Kwang Soo said that the agency felt it was necessary to terminate Hwa-young based on the opinions of the agency’s staff that includes makeup artists, managers and stylists. Kim would later state that the bullying rumors were not true.
The agency cited some “unacceptable behavior” from Hwa-young as one the causes of her removal. On the July 27th segement of the KBS “Music Bank“ show, Hwa-young decided at the last minute not to perform. The refusal by Hwa-young caused two members of the group to learn the rap segment in a short time and resulted in an error when it was performed live on-stage. On the way home from that performance, the rapper allegedly threw down her crutches and sat on the floor threatening to yell at the managers in public.
T-ara in Turmoil: Hwa-Young Responds with Tweet “Nothing But the Truth”
Hwa-young would later respond to her departure by tweeting to her followers with the cryptic message “Nothing but the truth.” Fans of Hwa-young backed up their idol by releasing past clips and videos showing the members’ rude behavior towards her.
The feud between CCM and Hwa-young and her fans is steadily growing as more facts are being revealed by the hour. With T-ara in turmoil, CCM assures the public the group will continue on with its 6 members and plans to add two more members later this year.
