The release of the scandalous nude photos is believed to be an act of revenge for her support of Yen in his fight with Zhao. Sadly, it’s the case of an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a disagreement between two Hong Kong actors and one citizen wanted payback against the actress!
The online attacker uploaded some photos of the Qi when she posed for an adult magazine long before she made her debut as an actress. The magazine photos were uploaded online for “re-visiting.”
What started as an innocent message in support of Yen resulted in receiving slanderous messages from internet citizens (aka “netizens”) voicing their displeasure against the actress.
The release of old photos of Shu Qi was certainly going over-the-top but it shows you how crazy people are on the internet.
This latest incident stems from the disagreement between Zhao and Yen on the movie set of Special Identity that occurred earlier this month. Zhao was replaced by actor Andy On, when rumors of the action star “acting like a big shot,” missing film shoots, and being unprofessional on the set became known.
The True Legend star responded to the rumors that it was Yen who acted like the big shot and that he requested rewrites of the script that turned Zhao’s role from featured role to a minor one. The incident happened weeks ago but the controversy still reverberates today.
Yen did address the latest incident concerning Qi when he released a statement: “Thanks to all my friends for all the support. It is also because of your support that I feel sorry that you were innocently dragged into the issue and have to face online violence that is getting out of control. I feel helpless, heartbroken!”
The emotional impact of the leaked nude photos obviously affected Qi as she was seen crying when approached by the media. Sources said that the popular actress erased over 1,000 messages on her Weibo microblogging account.
Nonetheless, the actress once known as the “Weibo Queen” is said to be preparing herself to be an advocate against “online violence.”
Go get em’ Shu!
